Well we are within one month of Try Out Camp. Where does the summer go?
With many miles, phone calls, questions answered and decisions made, SLU
Hockey has improved it's position to have over 40 players committed to
school and coming to the Fall Try Out Camp. Approximately 21 new
incoming student athletes will join our 20 returning players to try to
earn a spot on the 30 Man Roster for the upcoming season. The talent is
across the board and from every place around the U.S. We have new
players from traditional hockey markets, Minnesota, Colorado and
Illinois as well as players coming to us from the non traditional
markets in Texas and Louisiana. We do have seven new local St. Louis
players that will be on the ice with us at try outs and as always we
keep all of our options open at all positions to put the best team on
the ice for the coming season. The team spent a week together on and off
ice conditioning in July at the annual Mini Camp. Coaches and players
got to know each other, meet to plan for the season and most importantly
begin to develop team chemistry through camp competitions. It was time
well spent and will assist every team member in understanding their role
along with the operational and performance goals of the team. We look
forward to a very successful season in 06-07. |
