I have spent the last several weeks speaking with members of our incoming class and finalizing plans for our upcoming Summer Mini Camp. Because the camp will be a week long, the coaches have all had input into what is sure to be an exciting week of skating and conditioning. The new class that is coming to SLU is not only talented but anxious to show that they fit in and can help the team immediately. As always, most of them are still feeling their way along, attending SLU 101, booking their classes, learning what it will be like to live on campus and away from home. I think we all remember those feelings and as always the coaches are prepared to assist all of our players as we move toward our new season. I have been in touch with the local Junior B team from Twin Bridges and they will be playing several exhibition games with us in September. Along with the Jr. B games I have also made contact with the coach from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville (Division 2, ACHA) and they will also play two exhibition games against us in order for us to play all of our players that maybe on the bubble trying to make the D1 team in September. No dates have been set for these games but safe to say, we will have a few more and better exhibition games leading up to our season. Just a reminder to players, the Summer Mini Camp is Mon. July 24 - Fri. July 28 at The Brentwood Ice Arena and should you have need for housing please contact me. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.
