Well we kicked it into gear during this month. While running through 3
quick wins against the Jr. B Twin Bridges team and our Alumni team we
definitely hit a road block when playing on the road in the two losses
to Ohio University the first weekend of the season. They are a very
talented team and will more than likely contend for one of the top spots
in the rankings. We did see some success the second night as we played
even with Ohio in the first and second periods of the second game.
Unfortunately, the effort was muted by a melt down in the third period.
Mostly due to the team getting use to the new rules emphasis it will
take sometime for this group to hit their pace but once they do it will
be gratifying of all the coaches and players. We are very young and the
older players in the line up must show the way. Line combinations looked
alright but we will have to see if this translates out to a positive
effort on the ice. As we enter October we are 3-2-0 on the season with
the Illini due in for our home opener weekend. |
